Launched in July 2024 and funded through the New York City Office of Civil Justice, we provide 1,500 clients facing eviction with free, high-quality legal representation in Housing Court annually, address looming housing insecurity for individuals and families facing eviction while reducing the likelihood of entering the shelter system, and alleviate pressure on the Courts through alternative holistic services.

Queens Defenders’ innovative legal representation model combines skilled Attorneys with Housing Navigators to ensure clients facing eviction can stay in their homes, and when that is not possible, help them identify new stable, affordable housing and access entitlements.
